RE: Coupler and Ball Problem (pics) REPAIRS PICS NOW

To me, it looks like you haven't cleaned out the old grease and put some new grease at regular intervals. Dirt and junk do get into the grease and will cause the damage we see here. It also looks like you have a lot of angle on the hitch head and ball and you may also have to much tension on the WD bars....

RE: Show Us Your Little Rig!

What ever happened to the days when an 18 foot was the norm and a 24 to 26 footer was huge. Any 30 ft TT is run of the mill nowadays....and for the record there are some pretty sharp units in this thread.

RE: Refrigerator LP wont stay lit

Two things to try before you take it into a repair shop, take an air compressor and open up the fridge access panel and blow out everything, especially the gas orfice. The second thing you may want to check is the temp. setting and make sure you have a starting point of half way and not all the way to the coldest setting. The reason I point this out, is I have a friend with a Dometic unit and he had it set to the coldest setting and it was doing the same thing as yours and when he set the temp to the half way point, it did fire up and is working again.

RE: anyway to get more pressure from shower?

This might sound silly, but typically these shower heads are adjustable, which means you can stop the flow of water without actually turning the taps off. Just by turning the dial/ring on the shower head you can reduce the pressure or stop the flow of water. My wife also mentioned low pressure one day and I looked at it and discovered this feature and with a slight turn of the dial we had resonable water pressure again. Just a thought.

RE: The big question

Last year I picked up a used, low mileage GMC 3500 D/MAX and love it. I will never go back to a gasser for towing....to tow with a diesel is something you'd have to experience to believe it and once you go there....chances are you wont go back! To me, it's not what it cost initally, it's about an easy, relaxing camping experience, and the drive to and from the campground, can never be over rated...no stress = Duramax.

RE: How Do You Adjust or Know Your Anti-Sway Bar Is Correct?

I have 2 Husky friction sway bars on my unit and they work very well and yes some times they will groan and be noisy when tightened up and that is, what they will do. When I arrive at my destination, I remove them....so they don't get damaged when backing up. I have, on occasion, turned or backed up, at fairly sharp angles with no problems, but why tempt fate...and no creaking or groaning noises while driving through the campground, so when people are looking, as you drive by, it's to admire your set up and not thinking that guy's got a problem!

RE: Water pump is WAY LOUD...what is best isolator solution?

I installed a small accumulator tank and I found it made a difference, both for noise and the way the pump operates.

RE: How often do you use your A.C. camping

I picked up a Yamaha 3000 and can't wait to try it out. Yea it is heavy...but I want it all, while boon docking...and yea, I probably should have bought 2 Honda 2000's, but during the RV show, the price was right and it looked so pretty and blue is my favourite color!

RE: cat pen

I have 2 cats and one of them (Felix) comes with us on weekend outings because he is diabetic and requires 2 needles of insulin a day. My son looks after the other fellow (Katmandu) while we are gone. Now with Felix, we have a large, collapsible kennel, he can sit out in, when we are outside.....and believe it or not, he actually caught a mouse one night while we were sitting around a campfire...he was pretty proud about that! While we are gone from the camp site, he is inside the TT, lounging about, so we leave some windows open, water dish fresh n full, hard food and litter box, radio on....it's just like home, except a bit smaller. Your kitty will be just fine in the trailer with fresh air, food, water, litter box and some music and he or she will be alot happier and unstressed at the end of the day.

RE: Thinking about a new TV

I purchased a used GMC 3500/damx and I still smile when I use it to pull my trailer. My personal opion is, use a diesel for pulling, the benefit is, when loaded down or not, these beasts get some pretty decent MPG figures and they will pull most any load effortlessly. You'll not regret it.

RE: TT Tires- small cracks

I'd get them replaced, hopefully under warranty, but never the less, warranty or not, you should replace them for the safety factor, the on the road and flat tire inconvenience factor and the peace of mind factor...these are all important. P.S. Make sure you use a radial tire and not bias ply!

Wheel bearing grease. I keep a small thing of grease and a roll of paper towel in the TT storage compartment and I wipe and regrease when needed.

RE: bias or radial tires

Get Radials...your trailer will love you for it! And you'll be surprised at how much better it will tow.
